Waterford Institute of Technology has completed a piece of research funded under the Open Data Engagement Fund. Using open data, the research examines the impact of Institute of Technology (IOT) neighbourhoods on third level participation at the small area level as a means to inform interventions at Institute level in support of student progression and retention. The research aims to inform public policy on education access and support the priorities identified within the National Skills Strategy to 2025 and elsewhere relating to student retention.
