Under the National Emission Reduction Commitments Directive member states are required to monitor (Article 9) air pollution pressures and impacts on sensitive ecosystems. Irelands response to these legislative requirements was the establishment of the National Ecosystems Monitoring Network (NEMN), over which the EPA has a coordination role on the oversight and implementation. This is a points dataset of locations of terrestrial ecological and forest monitoring sites managed within the National Ecosystems Monitoring Network.
