Geographic Coverage: Island of Ireland and its offshore waters

Temporal Coverage: Principally concerned with generating new data from 2010 to 2015, but any old records will also be included to expand the database.

Species Groups recorded: marine mammal, terrestrial mammal

Dataset Status: Dataset is incomplete as it forms part of an ongoing survey

Data Capture Method: The principal method of data capture is through submission of records through the Centre's on-line records submission form. Data is also being incorporated from different sources and digitised and added to Dataset. Data Capture Purpose: To collect data on the distribution of mammals in Ireland over the period 2010 to 2015 to provide a benchmark on the spatial distribution against which future change can be tracked.
