Provenance information It is required for applicants of a Waste license to include proposed and current monitoring points when applying for the licence. The application is checked for monitoring point information and the coordinates are used to append new points onto the existing dataset. Attributes such as point code, coordinates, type of monitoring point and accuracy of coordinates are all recorded from the application. Once the licence is granted the monitoring points are checked again to see if there has been any changes in the licence. Spatial Accuracy: The points are not verified and a large proportion have no coordinates and lie at 0,0. Thematic Accuracy: Some of the points in the application are not given proper codes and so codes are sometimes generated based on the type and number of monitoring points (e.g. MA1 = Monitoring of Emissions to Air 1). Each has the EPA reg code for the facility that it is assigned to and a unique ID containing a combination of the EPA regcode and the monitoring point code.
