Long gap between creation of an eircode, and its availability on commercial databases

We waited six months to have an eircode allocated to our house. The eircode was issued on 31 May last, and is accessible via eircode.ie. However, our eircode is still not recognised by broadband providers as being valid, and we are told that it will be September before the eircode is uploaded to the database used by service providers. This is plainly ridiculous, and contradicts the legal situation where no one is legally forced to use an eircode to access services.
