This dataset contains a complete coverage for all mapped and digitised Subglacial Lineation features for the island of Ireland.

The map forms part of the GSI Quaternary Map series.

Data recorded includes the locations of crags and tails, drumlins, mega scale glacial lineation and streamlined bedrock as well as attribute fields such as data source, lineation length and references.

Provenance information 1. Filenames: Subglacial_Lineation.shp Date (12/11/2013) Originator -Quaternary & Geotechnical Section, Geological Survey of Ireland Nature of change/update to data - There is an ongoing programme of digitizing all archival Quaternary data held by the GSI. Methodology - The Sub Glacial features have been compiled from a variety of sources, including academic papers, and the feature outlines were then drawn on OSi Colour Aerial Photography. The original feature classes were merged into single subset called Subglacial Lineation from Drumlins, Crag and Tail, Streamlined Bedrock and Mega Scale Glacial Lineation.
