Connemara National Park features circa. 2,000 hectares of mountains, bogs, heaths, grasslands and forests. It is the site of many great walks and awesome views. Western blanket bog and heathland are the predominant vegetation types. The largest mammal in the Park is the Connemara Pony. Although a domestic animal, this pony is very much part of the Connemara countryside.

Provenance information This boundary map was produced using parcel data sourced from the Land Registry dataset from Property Registration Authority of Ireland and the OSI PRIME 2 dataset. The polygon geometry was generalised to 50M to produce this map using the Simplify Polygon toolset (using Wang-Muller algorithm method) in ArcGIS Pro 2.8 software.
