General Conservation Areas refer to a more extensive grouping of buildings and streetscapes. Architectural Conservation Areas are created legally under Section 10(2)(g) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 – 2010. This allows for groupings of buildings, streets and larger areas to be designated as Architectural Conservation Areas. Other Architectural Conservation Areas may be added over time. Within the City Development Plan, a number of policies apply. This dataset is a polygon dataset where the boundary of the polygon is the legal boundary of the Architectural Conservation Area.
