Jasmin, I understand from the FSAI (see comment below) that under Irish legislation on official controls, the outcome of inspections cannot currently be made available to the general public. We will follow up with the FSAI in any case. Open Data Team, 09/06/2017

Did anything come of making the Food Safety Authority inspections data open? I too would be incredibly interested in the data. It is open data in the UK.

Great, thanks Eileen. Maybe the lists of enforcement orders and so on could be made available on data.gov.ie under a permissive license :)
Thanks!

Thanks for your suggestion Carl. The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) is responsible for ensuring food businesses in Ireland comply with food safety legislation. This is done through inspections and other official controls of food businesses in collaboration with our official agencies. Consumer-facing establishments such as restaurants, cafes and supermarkets are mainly supervised by the Health Service Executive (the Environmental Health Service) which holds the records of inspections and their outcomes. Under Irish legislation on official controls, the outcome of these inspections cannot currently be made available to the general public. Food businesses served with enforcement orders for food safety breaches are listed on FSAI.ie . Summary statistics on official controls are published regularly on FSAI.ie and in the FSAI Annual Report.

I should say I meant for restaurants, cafes, and so on, consumer-facing establishments; not so much for meat processors and butchers, although I suppose I'll take that too if it's going! :)
