A listing of all past and open public consultations by the Public Sector and the Oireachtas with pointers to the submissions made in the case of closed consultations, and pointers to the submission process for open consultations. The list should be in reverse date order (most recent first) and searchable, and should include planned consultation where a release date has not yet been fixed. It should also be possible to register for e-mail notification of new consultations. Benefits - transparency and public engagement.

    A centralised public service consultation portal is now available at https://www.gov.ie/en/consultations/

    This would be very helpful for the Citizens Information Board and for many other organisations with a social policy aspect to their work. Great idea.

    Thank you for the response and the information that a consultation portal is under development. I trust that this new portal will have the facility to register for e-mail notifications. I'd like also to recommend that over time the records of the historical consultations be transferred to that new portal so that a complete record of the public consultation solicitations and the public responses will in due course be available in one place.

    At present, there is no composite list of all public consultations as each public consultation is run by the individual public body responsible for the subject matter. However I understand that a centralised public consultation portal is currently being developed which is expected to be launched later this year. We will send your suggestions on to the developers for consideration. I understand that the portal will include details of consultations from the date the site is launched.
