Eolas Dualfhoinse Surveys carried out by PJ & LL Chapman. Data entered into MS Access database by Dr Jane Preston. Resurvey of sites means that the dataset includes false positives, however this is only a problem when undertaking a statistical analysis of the dataset. Data is of a high quality. Data Capture Method: Full details of the data capture methodology is available in NPWS IWM No. 23. Searches for otter signs were made at 2,373 pre-selected sites across the country. Data Capture Purpose: This survey was the first systematic survey of otter distribution in Ireland. Original Format: Data imported into Recorder 6 from MS Access files.
