Dataset conforms to these standards | The INSPIRE Directive or INSPIRE lays down a general framework for a Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) for the purposes of European Community environmental policies and policies or activities which may have an impact on the environment. |
Rights notes | {"The Pollution Impact Potential maps are not publicly available, they can only be accessed by public bodies through the EPA WFD App on the EDEN portal. Information supplied is based on the material available in the EPA at the time of production and should not be regarded as complete data on the elements or areas being considered. Uncertainty is an inherent element in drawing (hydro)geological boundaries and local details are generalised to fit the original mapping and interpretation scale of 1:40,000 or lower. Additionally the main source of nutrient loadings data is derived from the Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS) supplied by DAFM. Where there is no LPIS data available, including all urban areas, the nutrient loadings are derived from Census data provided by the Central Statistics Office for each District Electoral Division. For forestry and wetland areas, atmospheric deposition is assumed the only nutrient input. These maps should not be used in isolation as they have been developed as a first step to inform where additional investigative assessment is required. The maps are not intended to be viewed at a resolution higher than 1:20,000. It is intended that statutory authorities should apply the maps to inform decision-making on the basis that the best available data are being used.","Environmental Protection Agency Data Licence",license,"Environmental Protection Agency Data Licence",license} |

Provenance information | Details of methodology used are given in the documents in the Online Resources. CCT Factors and input data developed during the Pathways Project were used as input to this project. The other main sources of input data for this project include the latest WFD river waterbody sub basins, the corine landcover 2012 dataset (EPA) at a scale of 1:100,000, Agricultural statistics broken down by district electoral division (DED) from the Census of Agriculture 2010 (CSO 2010), Soil classification and natural soil drainage map from EPA / Teagasc at a scale of 1:50,000. A number of GSI input datasets were used - Depth to bedrock map, National recharge map (1:50,000), Subsoil permeability (K) map (1:40,000), Potential bedrock denitrification map and Aquifer bedrock boundaries (1:100,000), land Parcel Identification System spatial data and Nitrate per Hectare data (Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, 2012) |
