Provenance information This data is a subset of the rainfall data allowing access to the archive of rainfall l data. Rainfall data is collected using Tipping Bucket Rain Gauges and Weight based Rain Gauges. Please note that all of the rainfall data is coded as unchecked; OPW precipitation gauges have been installed with the sole purpose of providing indicative rainfall amounts for input into Flood Forecasting and Warning Systems (FFWS) and to support the design of flood relief schemes. The gauges are sited to provide areal cover and the majority of sites are non-conventional and may be adversely affected by over / under exposure of the gauge. Consequently, the rainfall quantities recorded may not be an accurate representation of the true rainfall at the site. Please see https://waterlevel.ie/hydro-data/#/html/disclaimer
