Showcases highlight examples of how Open Data has been reused by individuals, businesses, researchers, public bodies and community organisations. They demonstrate how datasets published through data.gov.ie and other public sector sources can be combined, analysed, visualised or incorporated into applications, websites, services, research projects and other initiatives. Showcases are intended to share examples of Open Data reuse, provide inspiration to potential data users, and illustrate the value that can be created from making public sector information available for reuse.
Important Information
The inclusion of a showcase on data.gov.ie does not constitute approval, endorsement, accreditation or validation by the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation, the Open Data Team, or data.gov.ie. Inclusion of a showcase should not be interpreted as an endorsement of any commercial product, service or organisation. The views expressed, content presented and services described within a showcase remain the responsibility of the individual or organisation that submitted it. All showcase submissions are reviewed before publication. In general, showcases should demonstrate meaningful reuse of Open Data, including the use of one or more public datasets to create a product, service, application, visualisation, analysis, research project or other public-facing initiative. Showcases may be reviewed periodically and data.gov.ie reserves the right to update, archive or remove showcases where information becomes outdated, links no longer function, or the showcase no longer reflects its original purpose.
