EU News - Open Data best practices in Europe:Cyprus, France and Ireland

25 June 2020

In May 2020, the EDP published an analytical report titled "Open data best practices in Europe: Cyprus, France, and Ireland". The report provides readers with an overview of best practices implemented by top performing countries of the 2019 assessment. Key insights and recommendations are shared along four dimensions.  Read the report here.

To further showcase findings from the report, the EDP team hosted a webinar on 2 June with representatives from the national open data portal teams in Cyprus, France, and Ireland.

The EU Datathon 2020  will take place in Brussels, Belgium on 13 to 15 October 2020, organised by the Publications Office of the European Union.

In light of the COVID-19 crisis, the EDP has launched a dedicated section for COVID-19 on the portal. The section provides European citizens - from policy makers to researchers to entrepreneurs – with a one-stop-shop to be informed of data and data-related initiatives that enable a better understanding of the COVID-19 emergency and to empower them to act.

In the section you can find:

  • Datasets that are directly or indirectly related to COVID-19.
  • Data related initiatives such as dashboards and hackathons.
  • Data stories that provide more detail about one or multiple data-related initiatives or datasets and serve to provide examples of how open data can be used to generate additional insights related to the crisis.
