On the 19th of March 2025, The Irish Open Data Team attended the 36th Meeting of the Public Sector Information (PSI) Expert Group in Luxembourg. The meeting was organised by the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT) of the European Commission.

The PSI Expert Group meeting discussed Public Sector Information in the context of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the possibility of aligning the Open Data Directive with technology like AI in the future. The European register of data intermediation services, data altruism services and protected data was also discussed. There is a new EU Collaboration channel for data providers and users available on data.europa.eu. There will also be a questionnaire circulated to Member States on the European Data Innovation Board (EDIB). Some of the regulations governing INSPIRE data are to be removed with a view to making it more open in nature.

There was a presentation by Partner Für Deutschland which supports the implementation of High Value Datasets (HVDs), this showcased a guidance document for independence use by Public Sector Bodies. There is a regulatory framework factsheet available at https://pd-g.de/hvd-kummunal. There was a suggestion from this meeting that a typical list of HVDs that local authorises would have should be sent to them and ask them to publish these data, if available.

Denmark gave a suggestion for information to be harvested from the EU to the Danish Open Data Portal to highlight the information that the EU would have on Denmark that may not be currently available on their Open Data Portal.

Each Member State present gave an update on their recent Open Data activities.
