The CSO who publish crime statistics has advised the following: ‘In terms of spatial distribution, the CSO currently processes the data field which stores the Garda station (subdistrict) associated with a crime incident, and statistics are disaggregated by Garda region, division or station based on this data field. Street address data (nor any other spatial field e.g. GPS coordinates) is not currently processed for the purpose of CSO crime statistics. The CSO continues to explore alternative methods of presenting information to users. However mapping crime incidents to street level presents significant challenges in terms of confidentiality and disclosure risk, accuracy and completeness of location data, and the quality of statistical product. As such they are not in a position to publish at present’. Crime Statistics currently available are at https://data.gov.ie/data/search?q=crime. I hope that this is of assistance.
