Rural districts were created in 1898 by the Local Government (Ireland) Act 1898. They were subdivided into district electoral divisions. They were abolished by the Local Government Act 1925 but these former boundaries of the rural districts continue to be used for statistical purposes.Coordinate Reference System: Irish Transverse Mercator.This dataset is provided by Tailte Éireann
