The Department of Agriculture, Food & the marine (DAFM) operates 'public good' competitive research funding programmes for agriculture (RSF), food (FIRM) and forestry (CoFoRD) to support innovation and economic success across the bioeconomy. Research topics are informed by two strategic research agendas which identify sector research priorities: SHARP Sustainable Healthy Agri-food Research Plan (DAFM, 2015) and FORI Forest Research Ireland (DAFM, 2014). Calls are launched every 12 - 18 months, there were no calls for the following years: 2012, 2016, 2018.
