SHARING OF PERSONAL DATA

Where feedback or an enquiry relates to a specific dataset, DPER may, with your consent, share your message (including any personal data you submitted) with the relevant public sector body responsible for that dataset, so that they can respond appropriately. These public sector bodies act as data recipients for this purpose and your personal data will be processed in accordance with the privacy notice of the relevant public-sector body.

Aside from the publication of content you intentionally submit to the public forum, DPER does not disclose personal data to third parties unless required to do so by law. Users must not include any sensitive personal data or personal data of third parties in any public posts.

RETENTION OF PERSONAL DATA

Personal data (including feedback and enquiries) submitted through this website is retained until it is no longer required for the above-mentioned purposes or is deleted in line with internal policies.

OPEN DATA PRIVACY POLICY

Datasets linked through this website are published by individual public sector bodies (“publishers”), each of whom acts as the Data Controller for the datasets they provide. This includes the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation (DPER) in respect of the datasets it publishes. DPER’s role on data.gov.ie is primarily limited to operating and maintaining the national Open Data Portal (data.gov.ie) as a platform.

In order to comply with GDPR, datasets that contain personal data must be published only in an appropriately anonymised and aggregated form, such that they do not contain personal data of any identified or identifiable individual. Each publisher is solely responsible for ensuring that their datasets comply with data protection law before publication.
