Superset Dashboards now on data.gov.ie

Ireland's national Open Data portal, data.gov.ie, makes public data more accessible, insightful, and actionable. A new feature that integrates Apache Superset directly into the platform is being rolled out, bringing powerful dashboard and business intelligence capabilities. Until now, data.gov.ie has served as a rich repository of datasets, and while this has made data discoverable and downloadable, the superset dashboards are the next frontier for visualisation, helping users find and understand data.

Thanks to a collaboration with Derilinx, Apache Superset has been successfully integrated with CKAN. This integration means:

• Users can now access canned dashboards directly from the portal.
• Self-service interface allows authorised publishers to create visualisations without needing advanced technical skills.
• Dashboards can be embedded directly into data.gov.ie or accessed via a separate, intuitive Superset UI.

These dashboards allow for dynamic, interactive exploration, ideal for researchers, policymakers, journalists, and citizens. Open Data is only as powerful as its usability. By embedding Superset dashboards and enabling real-time visualisation, data.gov.ie is:
