Eolas Dualfhoinse The data was collected from different types of count methods. Most data has been collected by NPWS rangers and staff, while the Vincent Wildlife Trust, independent ecologists and bat workers have also contributed to it. Data is to high quality. Records are added to the database on an ongoing basis. Count data are held in an MS Access database and were extracted and uploaded into the NPWS Species database. Checks of record locations against OSI Discovery series and Sixinch mapping were carried out prior to the upload and corrections were carried out where necessary in consultation with Bat Conservation Ireland. Recorder 6 validation rules applied. The records were then exported from the Species database as a polygon shapefile showing squares, with the side lengths of the squares corresponding to the precision in which the records were provided.
