This dataset contains a coverage for important mapped and digitised limits of glacial erratic carriages across Ireland.

The map forms part of the GSI Quaternary Map series. The Erratic Carriage Sink is an arc feature class made up of Erratic limit and Inferred Erratic Path features.

Data recorded on the maps includes the lithology of the erratic rocks, an the relevant academic paper references where the data were sourced.

Methodology - The erratic limit and inferred erratic files have been compiled from a variety of sources, including academic papers, and the feature outlines were then drawn on OSi Colour Aerial Photography. Sources Used as input Data for the Change /update.- No revision is sanctioned as of 12/11/2013. Scripts/tools used.- Build/Clean/ Topologise tools in ArcGIS.
