Automatic River Monitoring (ie. ARMS) stations monitor the following parameters Water temperature (degC), Conductivity (milli Siemens/cm), Nephelometer (millivolts), CDOM (millivolts), Water level (mm), Dissolved oxygen (% Saturation), Dissolved oxygen (mg/l), and pH (pH units). River monitoring has taken place in the Burrishoole catchment, on the Glenamong, Black and Rough rivers in Co. Mayo. Data from the river stations has been collected since 2010. The stations support an array of limnological sensors and a telemetry system that relays the acquired data to the Marine Institute server in the Newport catchment facility office. Data was collected support knowledge and understanding of the Burrishoole ecosystem. Data collected was managed by the Newport catchment facility team within the Marine Institute. Data coverage is 100% since the ARMs system database application installed 2010.

Eolas Dualfhoinse The three Automatic River Monitoring Stations located in the Burrishoole Catchment collect data every 10 minutes from 7-8 sensors. Every hour a second file is created of the averaged data. The ARMS measures: - Conductivity - Dissolved Oxygen - pH - Turbidity - Water Depth - Water Temperature The data from the ARMS rely on landline or GSM links to download information to laptops or individual client machines.
