Provenance information Local authorities report bathing water quality results for ‘identified’ bathing waters (monitored and managed under <a href="http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/eli/2008/si/79/made/en/print"/>Bathing Water Quality Regulations 2008 (SI No. 79 of 2008)) </a> and other monitored waters not managed under the regulations ('non-identified') to the EPA via the Monitoring Data System (MDS) on <a href="http://www.epa.ie/enforcement/how/edenhelp/"/> EDEN (Environmental Data Exchange Network).</a> Results are provided for two microbiological parameters – E coli and Intestinal Enterococci. Sample water quality status is the likely quality of each individual water sample reported by local authorities as assessed by the EPA using the standards set in the Regulations and is expressed as ‘Excellent’, ‘Good’, ‘Sufficient’ or ‘Poor’.
