Open Data Training
Open Data training is once again available to Public Sector employees. Your organisation can book individual or group training courses via the Training Framework organised by the Open Data Unit in cooperation with the Office of Government Procurement (OGP). Open Data Impact Series VII - Sport & Recreation
Harnessing the power of open data to deliver better health and wellbeing outcomes
The event was opened by Assistant Secretary Marianne Cassidy (Public Service Reform and Delivery, Dept. Public Expenditure and Reform), followed by a series of national and international speakers that have developed Open Data initiatives in the area of sport and recreation linked to health and wellbeing.

Ireland's National Open Data Conference 2021 - 30th Nov
"The Importance of Data Quality – How publishing interoperable, harmonised data can directly benefit its use and impact".
The conference was opened by Minister of State, Ossian Smyth, TD and very well attended with over 300 people logging in remotely. The keynote speaker was Stefaan Verhulst, cofounder of GovLab in New York, his topic was ‘Towards a Purpose and Question-driven Open Data Ecosystem’.

Open Data Impact Research Study

Impact Stories
The Open Data portal now includes a number of Impact Stories. The goal of the Impact Stories feature is to give examples of current use of open data while also telling a story with the data and in doing so directly demonstrating the impact of open data.
Ireland EU trend-setter in Open Data
Ireland continues to be ranked amongst Open Data 'trend-setters' in the 7th EU Open Data Maturity Report published in December, 2021. This report assesses the level of open data maturity across Europe and Ireland ranked in 2nd place overall behind France. Ireland scored a total of 95% across the 4 dimensions measured: policy, impact, portal, and quality.

Our Next Open Data Strategy
Join us for a series of interactive workshops in June and July 2022 and have your say on the future of the Open Data Strategy. There will be 3 in-person Town Hall events, in Cork, Galway and Dublin and 2 online ones, to facilitate those unable to attend in person. Publication of the Open Data Strategy 2017 – 2022
An Open Data Strategy for 2017-2022 was published in July 2017. The goal is for Ireland to become a leader in Open Data and to create an environment where the economic, social and democratic benefits of Open Data are recognised and realised.
